Incident: SE37 saving the daily report into its library
Job RPTSAVE ended ABEND=SE37 in step SAVE The daily branch report was not saved to LEARNER.RPT.LIB(DAILY)
Every night RPTSAVE copies today's branch report into member DAILY of the library LEARNER.RPT.LIB, replacing yesterday's. The library also keeps WEEKLY and MONTHLY. Nothing about the job or the report size has changed for a year, but tonight SAVE ended SE37. Find out why, get today's report saved, and do not lose any member. (Site practice: take a backup copy of a library before you reorganise it.)
What you will do
- Read the abend and the IEC032I message
- Work out where the library's space went
- Back up, reclaim the space, and save today's report
